so i have several things to post. the Hula invites from yesterday was one of them. this is another. duh. don't you love when i state the obvious? well, the Duchess has a baby and i said to her...hey save the baby food jars..we can do something with them! well here is what i have done. i spray painted the lids, only to find out that the "use by" date came glowing through the paint! so i popped out some circles and deco pauged some nifty lids that cover up the dates! how smart. lol. I am using the for storing all sorts of things from glitter to tags to to sequins to extra blades for the paper cutter. I just don't have a nifty way to store the jars. I have very limited space to store my crafting supplies so they are just tossed in the closet. boo! they do make me smile though when i take them out and look at them. another project i have been working on was making a couple of pennant banners..you know like at car lots? My best friend, The Duchess has a knack for buying bargains. If i want anything, i just tell her and she puts it on her shopping list, and eventually she calls me and has found it...usually on clearance. So, she has been planning a Luau for a while and when she found this pack of 8 invites for $.75, she couldn't pass them up. The above picture is what they looked like out of the package. pretty cute, huh? Well, not cute enough for her! So one day she asks me what i think they need, she was thinking about mounting them on paper and calling it a day. I had the great idea of wanting to put a 3D flower on her skirt or hair. One thing led to another, many bags and boxes were dug through and then we ended up with white flowers. Some were from a $.99 bag of miscellaneous flower heads she bought at wal-mart, some were from the $1 bin at target, and some, oddly enough, were from some flowers she bought 10 years ago to do something for a bridal shower for me!!!! so we decide we can dye

Just a few moments here to say, YES i have not been creative lately at all and it is killing me! that box of new SU! stuff is still sitting there by the front door, mostly untouched. how terribly sad is that? we have had the stomach virus running through our house and it's spring break and Easter this weekend! I can't believe i have not stamped anything for Easter! Now, my computer has been shipped off for a Motherboard recall! so although i can use the one that is my husband's, it doesn't have my programs or my photos on it. boo! hopefully it will be back to me soon! Well, i have started working on the invites for my DD's clown birthday hoopla! Ok so i had no idea how time consuming it was going to be to color that dang clown stamp! wow! i guess i have never done much of that before. I used real red, tempting turquoise, pumpkin pie, bashful blue, and green galore SU! markers to color the stamp form SU! Clowning Around set. When i do party invites i do a two sided card, like a post card, to save on paper. I did finally get them complete last night, all except for the wording that will go on the back of the card. I have a while to get to that. My DH helped me last night finish these up. The card is Pumpkin pie, and green galore card stock with East coast prep DP also from SU! The circle is punched from Tempting turquoise and the ticket is stamped with Regal Rose in on the same color paper and cut out, then glued to the circle. The ribbon is Real Read Su! grosgrain. I am a total crafting slacker. Not one creative thing has happened in my life in what seems like ages! I have a box of SU ! stuff that arrived two weeks ago...its untouched! how sad is that? I am going to get my mojo working again soon i hope. It just seems like life has snuck up on me and i have been so busy with other things that i haven't had time or the desire to be creative! GAK ! I did make these cookies that are coated and decorated with white chocolate! they are shortbread and were very yummy!
