quliting bug....its bit me!

TA DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!

ok, ok whatever! but i made this awesome tree block, just trying to figure it out and loved it. I wanted to do something with it, so i decided to quilt it. Gave me some practice with my "Walking foot". I have always been too scared to use it. *shrug*



ok TRY, not to laugh here. Yes, i KNOW it looks like Elmo colored all over my quilt square....



but again, i was just using up scraps, trying out a maverick star, and thought...hmmmmmmmm wonder how that free motion quilting thing works?????
so i gave it a whirl. lol. not as scary as i thought, nor as easy as i had hoped. lol. but, it is practice...and another coaster/trivet/pot holder thingy!
I finally finished the "blue jean" quilt top i have been working on for my DS. I am terrified to quilt it. It is sooooooo heavy and soooooo big. I don't usually "do" small. oh well. Maybe my friends at the quilting group can help me figure it out...hint! hint!!

so i did it. Showed the web page to the hub and he said, "how can you NOT do this? It's writing, and photography and scrappin' all things you love! Sign up and merry Christmas!" so i did! I will be officially taking the Journal your Christmas online class starting Dec 1st. This is my very first online class ever! I have to say i am excited. I have already started getting emails since i signed up last night welcoming me and letting me know how things are going to happen. There is a forum if participants want to join in on the group atmosphere of that. I got a file on how to prepare for the class today, and we all know i am an over achiever so i will certainly want to be ready on Dec. 1 st for the BIG first day of class! I am so excited, my scrapbooking and memory preserving has fallen way behind lately and i do love Christmas, so i am hoping this will be just the kick start I need to get those creative juices flowing again! Well, my DD has been home sick from school for two days but seems to be on the mend. Hopefully she will go tomorrow. Needless to say i have not done much creatively in the past couple of days. I do have some things to show you though. This is FINALLY the last of the Valentine's Topiaries! This one took forever! Here they all are together with the last mailbox i made for ME! from my Target stash! Here is the whole fireplace area...i have a little bling on the screen that says "LOVE" from the Target Dollar Spot and two red velvet bows i got from WM after Christmas on Clearance. You will also notice the white plastic cherubs...I told you they would keep showing up! Is there another holiday i can use them for ? hmmmm.... And now for a little game. Can you guess what this is? SCS Kick Stand Card Challenge

OK, so after months of hanging out looking and getting ideas i finally signed up for SCS today. Also, in questing for new ideas i thought i would participate in some of the challenges so that would force me to be creative. Well, here it is. my first challenge...a kick stand card. It doesn't look like much but for some reason it took me a LONG time to do! I kept messing up the stamped image, SU!'s festive four set, and the "happy valentine's day" stamp, from Michael's $1 bin was mounted crooked, so after trying several times to stamp it straight, i finally popped it in the microwave for a few seconds and repositioned it. I think it all started with the black paper...i only had scraps so i had to build an unusual shaped card. Then i wanted to use that heart patterned paper but had no idea what else. It was very time consuming, but i am happy with how it turned out. I hope whoever i give it to likes it. always cyndi
