So my Son, always inventive, wanted a Popeye Party for his NINTH (when did he get so old?) Birthday. I am here to tell you that there is NOTHING online to help a girl out when planning a Popeye party! I had to be really creative on this one~ He, of course, wanted a costume. I was NOT going to spend $40 on a crappy store bought one! Have you noticed how poorly most of those costumes are made? ICK ! I constructed this Popeye shirt with a $4 Navy Tee and some felt i had "in stock"! Turned out pretty good i think! I was lucky enough to be selected for another house party ...this one by Capri Sun! SO, our Popeye party was "sponsored" by Capri Sun! (thank you craft!) They sent Frisbees and Terra cycle pencil pouches for all the kids, and coupons and magnetic frames for the moms! In honor or Capri sun, we played that game where you pass an orange held under your chin from person to person....this does not go over well with this age group! It was very funny thoug...

I have been consumed with back to school activities. Trying to get in the groove and such. Also working on my son's 8th b'day party. the theme this year is Presidents...or Americana. We have broadened the "theme" a bit. He wanted to be George Washington..... This is the front of his invite....what do you think? DD had to be Lincoln! cute, right? I will show you the George costume along with the other party details after i survive it...tomorrow night! Just wanted to toss this one in for good measure....she loves this bouncy jumpy thing at the mall...that's the 2nd level behind her...yes, she is that high in the air!

Here are just a few of our webkinz.....they wanted to introduce themselves.... These are the gems...made from a paste of flour, coffee grounds, salt and water.....wrapped around gems and rocks. Here's the "mine".... the kids each got to pick three stones, like in the games, and crack them open to see if they found gems or slag (just a rock).

Here is the Wheel of WOW as it appears in Webkinz world. You get to spin it once a day to win prizes. Here is my (not so great) Wheel of WOW cake.... and here is our fabulous Wheel of WOW that we had for the party! It was a lot of fun for the kids. My Dad had made this years ago for a church thing as a Wheel of Fortune...so i just turned it into the Wheel of WOW and Webkinized it for the party. The kids loved it!

Right now i am up to my eyeballs planning, or finishing up, a Webkinz party for my DD's 5th Bday. It has been a lot of fun to work on, and i have gotten some GREAT ideas from a friend of a friend...and that has helped a lot! The biggest issues i have had is that there are NO party products that are already ready already so i am having to make everything!!! which is cool, and time consuming. It also involves a lot of computer work, some of which is out of my league, so my DH is having to do it for me. *smile* thanks darlin! I made a set of cards for my mom for Christmas. She send out a million cards a year and i thought it would be nice to give her some so she didn't have to buy so many..and we all know handmade cards are the best! this is the wedding/anniversary card, quite lovely! there were two of these... and this is a birthday card i think there were three or four..wait maybe only two. oh well. Dear Santa, All i want for Christmas this year is for my kids to enjoy the day and not get too wrapped up in all the presents. Help me, as well as them, to remember that we are celebrating Christ's birth even though we are the ones getting the presents. If there is room in your sleigh, i'd like a bone folder, and new blades for my paper trimmer. thanks cyndi These little goodies are what i sent to school with my kids for their classmates. I got the suckers at the Dollar Tree, 8 per package! I made the tags with SU! punches, ink and stamps. Added some glitter and ribbon! ta -dah! These are the gingerbread people i made for the playgroup kids. Here's a close up of the tags...SU! again as well as some stuff that's just been hanging around! hope you all are almost ready for the big day!

i have some birthdays coming up, all boys...those are the hardest ones for me to make. I whipped these up the other night. all supplies are SU! except the ribbon which is from the $1 bin at Michael's. Plain. Simple. Easy. Happy Thanksgiving! cyndi

I have been steadily working on my DS birthday for several weeks. The invitations are almost ready to print *see the front above*. The party isn't until 9/20 so i have a little bit of time. I have to admit that i have gotten several ideas from looking around online for Indiana Jones Birthday Party ideas. this one http://sippycupsareforchardonnay.blogspot.com/2008/06/indiana-jones-birthday-party.html is one of the best that i have seen. I have taken some of her ideas, and some I got from other places and turned them into things that will work for us. I am honestly not as creative as i appear, i just get ideas from others and tweak them to suit my needs. I wish i had more to show you right now, but i just don't. Things are in the process of coming together and nothing is quite finished yet.
