Here for my Year in review of 2009, i decided to try and show some craft that i did each month. I wasn't always successful, but i tried to show some things i have put together through the year. I really hope that 2010 is a rockin' crafty year for us all!

Happy Anniversary!

Well, Life has been seriously getting in the way of my creativity. I have re-organized my craft space, that's been fun, and i have done a couple of things I have to show you. This is the card i made for DH for our 10th Anniversary. It was on Friday! We had a very low key evening. We are planning road trip this summer to celebrate, so we just ate at home and worked on our plans for that. the "traditional" gift for the 10th anniversary is tin or aluminum...so i used aluminum foil for his card! cute, isn't it? I used "grommets" to attach the foil to card stock. There are ten little "tabs" that pull out with things written on them, each one is decorated differently. Here's his "gift". I actually got him a RC helicopter too, but that was a few weeks ago. Here is a tin bucket from Target ($1), some candy and a $10 gift card for Starbucks! I have plans for the "bucket" if he abandons it. lol the other thing i have been working on i...

girls weekend prizes.

I hand stitched these. I guess I got a little nuts..but it was fun! several posts ago i showed you how i was making some drawstring bags...well, these are they. I filled them with all sorts of relaxing and nurturing things that we could use for our "moontime" each month. If you click on the pictures to make them bigger you will be able to see the little tags on each item. These were just a little way to remind us that being a woman is not a bad thing and that our monthly cycle shouldn't be treated as a curse, but as a time to slow down, reflect and learn from our extra sensitivity. And honestly, who can get through it without chocolate???

lost in loveland

well, i have tried, really i have, to catch up on my Days of love...alas i am still behind. I did want to share with you the book/card i made for my DH for V day though. I was really very proud of it and pleased with how it turned out. I used some chipboard coasters that i had picked up in a $1 bin somewhere and decoupaged them with photos and brown paper bag scraps. (if the coasters are glossy...sand them a bit first) I used various things for embellishments...whatever i had laying around that seemed like it would work.

Day 19 and Christmas treats

Image
Dear Santa, All i want for Christmas this year is for my kids to enjoy the day and not get too wrapped up in all the presents. Help me, as well as them, to remember that we are celebrating Christ's birth even though we are the ones getting the presents. If there is room in your sleigh, i'd like a bone folder, and new blades for my paper trimmer. thanks cyndi These little goodies are what i sent to school with my kids for their classmates. I got the suckers at the Dollar Tree, 8 per package! I made the tags with SU! punches, ink and stamps. Added some glitter and ribbon! ta -dah! These are the gingerbread people i made for the playgroup kids. Here's a close up of the tags...SU! again as well as some stuff that's just been hanging around! hope you all are almost ready for the big day!

do they know it's Christmas time at all?

I read about this in someone's blog..but i don't recall who. sorry. I am like that. but here is the link for Journal your Christmas . Really...how cool is this idea? I am going back and forth about actually signing up for the class...it sounds really cool..but do i really need to spend the money right now? hmmmm..... I did buy some super cheap Halloween crafty clearance stuff at Target today...think of the money i saved..lol!!! Anyway if i join or not..i am going to try and journal Dec. 1 thru Jan. 6th in this spiffy little book i made. I know i always say this..but it looks cuter in person. I started with a $1 notebook i got at Michael's, added some stuff and voila! presto changeo! Maybe it will help me with my quest to live more intentionally and to pay more attention to what i am doing, rather than on what i am waiting for or what i am planning on....yanno? always cyndi
